LEADERSHIP

The Institute for Medical Science is led by an Institute Director, Associate Directors and an Executive Committee for day-to-day operations with representatives from participating Schools and Colleges. Faculty members participate in instantiation of Institute programs, platforms and projects and in an active internal Steering Committee to achieve and maintain national leadership.

Executive Team

The executive team is responsible for driving strategic direction, ensuring ethical and effective data governance, and leading the development of innovative AI technologies in medical data science. They secure partnerships and funding, oversee clinical validation and regulatory compliance, and streamline operations to support AI integration in healthcare settings. Additionally, they lead research on new data modalities and the long-term effects of AI, foster community engagement, and address health disparities, particularly in the Pacific Northwest region. Steering Committee

The steering committee provides strategic oversight, ensures governance and compliance, monitors performance, manages risks, and oversees financial planning. They engage with stakeholders, support innovative research, and guide efforts to enhance patient health, provider satisfaction, and healthcare operations, particularly in the Pacific Northwest region, and ensure the executive committee’s actions align with the organization’s vision and mission. Taskforce

The Taskforce supports the executive and steering committees by conducting research and development, generating and analyzing ethically sourced datasets, and participating in clinical and ethical validation of AI tools. They develop educational programs, engage in community outreach, foster innovation, and collaborate with various stakeholders. Additionally, they assist in monitoring and evaluating the impact of AI implementations, contributing to the organization’s mission of advancing AI in medical data science and improving healthcare outcomes.
